Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla and a prominent figure in companies like X, SpaceX, and Neuralink, has revealed the possibility of undergoing surgery. Musk shared his plans for an MRI on his neck and upper back in a recent post on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter.
The 52-year-old entrepreneur stated that he would gain more insight into his medical situation within the coming week. This development has caused Tesla’s stock to drop over 2% during Monday morning’s trading.
If Musk’s health condition indeed necessitates surgical intervention, his extensive executive responsibilities might be temporarily affected. Moreover, this health concern could potentially impact the anticipated friendly bout between Musk and Meta’s CEO, Mark Zuckerberg.
The two affluent individuals have been engaging in online banter since the launch of Meta’s text-oriented social media platform, Threads, which has been hailed as an alternative to X. Despite their joking rivalry, they’ve agreed to a physical encounter, though the format of this meeting remains uncertain, including the possibility of a cage match.
In a recent X post, Musk declared his intention to livestream the fight and donate all proceeds to a veterans’ charity. Meanwhile, Zuckerberg used Threads to propose August 26th as the potential date for the event, although Musk has not yet confirmed his availability.
Zuckerberg humorously remarked, “Not holding my breath,” indicating the uncertainty surrounding the proposed clash.
